Cebu Pacific A320 at Davao, runway excursion

A Cebu Pacific Airbus A320-200, registration RP-C3266 performing flight 5J-971 from Manila to Davao (Philippines) with 165 people on board, veered right of the runway just before 19:00L (11:00Z) while landing on Davao's runway 23 in heavy rain and came to a stop with the nose gear collapsed.

The airline reported the aircraft veered off the runway while landing in Davao in heavy downpour.

Sources within the airline claim that the runway lights failed briefly while the aircraft was on short final causing the runway excursion.
