Problema al nose steering per un 321 AZ

Incident: Alitalia A321 at Rome on May 8th 2012, loss of nose wheel steering

An Alitalia Airbus A321-100, registration EI-IXV performing flight AZ-1776 from Palermo to Rome Fiumicino (Italy), was enroute when the crew reported the loss of nose wheel steering. The aircraft continued to Rome for a straight in approach to and safe landing on Fiumicino Airport's runway 16L but could not vacate the runway. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

Passengers reported, while waiting for the tow truck the crew explained the gear doors had not closed and the nose wheel steering had failed.

The incident aircraft is still on the ground in Rome (standing 13:45Z, 6 hours after landing).
