Rescuers are searching the area for any survivors
A Cuban passenger plane has crashed in the centre of the country with 68 people on board.
The aircraft, belonging to the state-run Aerocaribbean airline, was flying from the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba to the capital Havana when it went down, state media report.
The passengers reportedly included 28 foreigners - including people from Latin American, Europe and Japan.
There is no word on the cause of the crash or on any survivors.
The French-built ATR twin turboprop crashed late on Thursday near the town of Guasimal in Santi Spiritus province, with 61 passengers and seven crew on board.
Media reports say foreign passengers included 17 Latin Americans, 10 Europeans and one Japanese person.
The twice-weekly flight had originated in Port-au-Prince in Haiti and stopped over in Santiago.
The pilot reported an emergency before contact was lost.
Emergency crews had to use bulldozers to cut through thick vegetation to reach the crash scene, Cuban media say.
Several bodies have been pulled from the wreckage, which an eyewitness described as "a ball of flame in the middle of the mountain".
Rescuers say they are searching the area for any survivors.

Flugzeugabsturz auf Kuba – auch zwei deutsche Touristen waren an Bord! Insgesamt 68 Passagiere saßen in der Maschine, darunter 28 Ausländer. Zu den Insassen gehörten den Angaben zufolge auch drei Niederländer und zwei Österreicherinnen.
Bei den Deutschen handelt es sich um einen Mann und eine Frau. Die Passagierliste wurde im kubanischen Fernsehen vorgelesen. Auch aus Frankreich, Italien, Argentinien und Mexiko waren Fluggäste an Bord.
Lokalen Medien zufolge haben Rettungskräfte die ersten Todesopfer gefunden. Wie die lokale Zeitung „Escambray“ über Twitter berichtete, steht die Unglücksmaschine auch Stunden nach dem Absturz noch in Flammen. Die Bergungsarbeiten am Absturzort in Zentralkuba laufen auf Hochtouren.
Offizielle Angaben zu Todesopfern oder Überlebenden gibt es nicht.
Das Turboprop-Flugzeug vom Typ ATR-72-212 war auf dem Weg von Santiago de Cuba in die Hauptstadt Havanna abgestürzt. Der Pilot schickte nach Behördenangaben noch einen Notruf. Danach brach der Funkkontakt ab. An Bord der Maschine der staatlichen Airline Aerocaribbean mit der Flugnummer 883 waren 61Passagiere und 7 Besatzungsmitglieder. Die Unglücksursache ist noch unklar.

Ho capito però... cavolo... milioni di spettatori... fino a quando è tgcom e giornaletti vari a dirlo, poco male, mica li segue tutta Italia come il Tg1...
