“Fundamentally, deterrence is credibility, capability and willingness,” Gorenc said during an April 5 Defense Writers Group event in Washington.
“That airplane is going to make what we do from the air and across the board — it will in itself help" boost deterrence.

Mi sto chiedendo se questo insistente 'tintinnar di sciabole' da parte dei generali USA non sia, al momento attuale, controproducente .....

In loro brucia un po' la non esaltante figura fatta in Siria.
Significative sono al riguardo le parole del vescovo di Aleppo: "L'intervento russo ha smascherato la commedia dell'intervento americano. Quando a bombardare erano gli americani e i loro alleati lo Stato islamico si espandeva. Quando i russi hanno cominciato a bombardare, l' Isis ha, finalmente, iniziato a ritirarsi" (intervista rilasciata a Gian Micalessin per il Giornale).
Credo che la magra figura non sia dipesa in realtà dai generali quanto piuttosto dalla politica ambigua portata avanti dal loro governo. Tuttavia alla fine rimane il fatto che, agli occhi del mondo, i russi sono riusciti (almeno per ora) dove loro hanno fallito.

Per me i russi fanno molto male a cedere a queste provocazioni (perchè di questo si tratta). Un giorno una nave americana, meglio se piena di donne, bambini, vecchi e disabili, tutti ovviamente bianchi, anglosassoni e protestanti, avrà un incidente vicino alle coste russe e si dirà subito che è colpa dei russi. Non sono belle immagini, le trovo molto preoccupanti.
I polacchi e i baltici fanno molto male a fare quello che fanno. Ci sarebbero istruttori di questi ed altri paesi europei in Ucraina ad addestrare e comandare truppe anti-russe. Nel 2016, nel cuore dell'Europa orientale, paesi europei contro altri paesi europei, con migliaia di morti e decine di migliaia di feriti e di profughi, dei quali tra l'altro non si sente e non si legge praticamente quasi nulla, come se non stesse succedendo niente, è tutto normale. Io la vedo come una bestemmia che va contro tutto il nostro passato recente di europei dal 1939 a oggi.
Navi ed aerei di superpotenze diciamo non-amiche si sfiorano nei NOSTRI mari, vicino alle nostre coste. A distanze in cui il preavviso può essere di minuti, se non di secondi. L'Europa certifica secondo me il suo totale fallimento ogni giorno di più. Queste e altre immagini ne sono la prova e sono di giorno in giorno più evidenti e più numerose.

L'aviazione navale russa sulla base di Kaliningrad-Chkalovsk dovrebbe avere sotto il suo comando anche il 689° Istrebitel aviapolkov (IAP), o 689° reggimento caccia intercettori delle Guardie, che, pur facendo parte della PVO, obbedisce temporaneamente alla marina.
Il reggimento è costituito da Su-27P nel ruolo di intercettori. Molti aerei portano sui fianchi la bandiera bianca con la croce azzurra della marina e la coccarda bianca e rossa delle Guardie della Rivoluzione dell'URSS, come questo nel video, con il numero 90 rosso:

Russia will complete the delivery of S-300 air defense systems to Iran by the end of the year, according to a Russian presidential aide for military-technical cooperation.

L'idea era quella di lasciar fare Daesh (devastazioni di siti archeologici comprese, tanto i miliardari americani attendono ansiosi sul mercato nero i pezzi di pregio trafugati con la scusa di aver distrutto tutto per "ragioni religiose") finché contribuiva ad indebolire Assad che volevano rovesciare; e finché dava fastidio ad Hezbollah notoriamente nemico (vero) di Israele, salvo poi decidere di controbattere davvero solo una volta che Daesh avesse fatto per loro, pur non guidata, il lavoro sporco contro i filo iraniani e filo sciiti.

Questo ha precedenti evidenti e vergognosi: mentre al di sotto di un certo parallelo e al di sopra di un altro dopo la 1a guerra del Golfo (Desert Storm) gli USA istituirono una no-fly zone, però, distratti, lasciarono che Saddam facesse alzare in volo i suoi elicotteri da attacco per mitragliare gli sciiti in rivolta. La rivolta fu soffocata nel sangue, un vero mare di sangue, con gli USA... voltati dall'altra parte.

Se l'Iran ha tanto poca simpatia per gli USA, beh, diciamola tutta, ha anche le sue buone ragioni.
Con i colti anche se rigidi sciiti inimicizia totale, sanzioni e minacce di guerra; con i sauditi connazionali di TUTTI gli attentatori dell'11 settembre, finanziatori di Daesh, e i sauditi sì VERI nemici di Israele (se venisse un malaugurato giorno nuovamente attaccata, i soldi li metterebbe la dinastia Al-Saud) pacche sulle spalle, mutui regali di lusso, contratti e forniture di cacciabombardieri. Fantastico.

Non riuscire a superare la logica "i nemici dei miei nemici sono miei amici" (senza nemmeno "guardarli in faccia") ha prodotto nel ventesimo secolo danni inenarrabili, creando improbabili alleanze di chiunque con qualsiasi feccia umana e geopolitica, salvo poi ritrovarsela contro - una volta che detta feccia invece di continuare a fare il lavoro sporco per il "genio" di turno decideva, orrore! Di mettersi in proprio. Ma dai...

Remember, Russia also sells warplanes, at far cheaper prices.
Others also will be competing to export arms as Vietnam undergoes its largest military buildup since the Vietnam War.
