HAWKER 800 BUSINESS JET CRASH

From FL150 till ground in 30 Seconds,
to undergoing testing when it crashed

A Hawker 800 Business Jet crashed
in the Rose Lake State Wildlife Research Area, outside of Lansing, Michigan,

killing all 3 on board.


The aircraft had received some maintenance work
at Kellogg Field in Battle Creek, Michigan,
and was reportedly undergoing testing when it crashed

è necessario un volo di prova di stallo post-manutenzione
prima che l'aereo possa essere rimesso in servizio

sul Test Stallo e sul Test Pilot Post Manutenzione:

STALL TEST:


A FREQUENT REASON FOR UNACCEPTABLE STALL CHARACTERISTICS IS A TENDENCY TO ROLL THE STALL.
IT IS ACCEPTABLE FOR A MODERATE ROLL TO OCCUR, PROVIDED THAT NORMAL USE OF AILERONS
CAN LIMIT THE ROLL ANGLE TO NO MORE THAN 20%.

AILERON SNATCH MAY OCCUR AT OR PRIOR TO STALL AND IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
THE AILERON SNATCH MAY BE STRONG ENOUGH TO AFFECT RECOVERY USING AILERON INPUT, IN WHICH CASE
THE ELEVATOR CONTROL MUST BE MOVED FORWARD TO DECREASE THE ANGLE OF ATTACK AND
ALLOW THE RETURN OF NORMAL AILERON CONTROL.
IN SUCH AN EVENT THE PILOT MUST BE PREPARED TO RECOVER FROM AN UNUSUAL ATTITUDE.

TEST PILOTS CONDUCTING STALL CHECKS SHOULD HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN PERFORMING STALLS IN
THE HAWKER AIRCRAFT AND MUST BE PREPARED FOR UNACCEPTABLE STALL BEHAVIOR AT ANY
POINT LEADING UP TO AND THROUGHOUT THE MANEUVER.
